Laboratory Teaching Personnel in Mineralogy and Petrology
Ifigeneia Megremi is Laboratory Teaching Personnel in the Department of Geology and Geonvironment. She specialises in Environmental Mineralogy and Environmental Geochemistry with an emphasis on the study of the factors that control the Speciation, Bioavailability, Mobility, and Distribution of Toxic Metals (such as Cr(VI)) in various sampling media (Fe-Ni ores, ultramafic rocks, soils, waters).
She is also expert in the mineralogical and geochemical study of rock, soil, water, and plant samples using various analytical techniques such as optical microscopy, SEM-EDS, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), AAS, ICP-MS. Teaching Mineralogy at Mineralogy-Petrology Museums.
