PLAGIARISM

The use of ideas, concepts, words, pictures etc. without appropriately acknowledging the source in order to pass them off as our own, is plagiarism. Quoting and paraphrasing is not plagiarism as long as the sources are correctly cited.

Plagiarism of any kind is considered academic dishonesty/fraud, and it is not acceptable; offenders are subject to academic censure and sanctions accordingly. NKUA uses plagiarism detection software (Turnitin) to uncover potential plagiarism and to deter students from plagiarizing.

Students who are notified about alleged plagiarism, are encouraged to seek advice and support from their Academic Advisor. In case of suspected plagiarism, the final decision is made by the course instructor.
