Dimitris Roussos is a geoarchaeologist specialized in archaeological soil micromorphology and other methods of geosciences applied in archaeological research. He is currently in the final year of his PhD research at the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and works as technical personnel in the M.H. Wiener Laboratory of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens.

His research focus on the geoarchaeological investigation of combustion features (e.g. kilns, ovens, hearths) through the application of a variety of analytical methods, including soil micromorphology, FTIR, XRD and XRF. By integrating macro- and micro-scopic observation with geochemical and mineralogical analyses he is able to assess the technological aspects of these features and reconstruct human activity and everyday life of past societies.
